The chess team from Dagestan has taken first place in the medal standings at the North Caucasus Federal District Championship held in Zheleznovodsk, Stavropol Region.

The event included three disciplines: classical chess, rapid chess, and blitz chess. About 250 players aged 7-19 competed for tickets to the 2025 Russian Championship in Moscow. Nearly half of these tickets were won by players from Dagestan.

In the main classical chess tournament, contestants from Dagestan have accumulated a total of 12 awards, including five gold, four silver, and three bronze medals. Now, all winners are faced with the challenge of meticulous preparation for the upcoming Russian championship, which is set to begin in early April 2025.
