According to the press service of Dagestan Ministry of Sports, the region will host the II Russian Taekwondo Championship. The event is scheduled to take place on April 17-21 at the Sports Palace named after Ali Aliyev in the town of Kaspiysk.

The competitions will be held in 16 categories, with medals awarded both for men and for women. The first Russian championship in this discipline was held in Kaspiysk back in 2011. Dagestan emerged victorious in three weight categories among men then.
