Gadzhi Gadzhiev won a bronze medal at the International Karate Tournament in Novosibirsk. The Dagestani took part in five bouts at the tournament, competing in the 75kg weight category for participants over the age of 18. His only defeat at the tournament came in the semi-finals against a representative from Iran.

Gadzhi Gadzhiev represents the Mirzabekov Olympic Reserve Sports School and trains under the guidance of Omar Murtazaliyev and his father Murad Gadzhiev.
