MAKHACHKALA, February 12 – RIA “Dagestan”. The number of sanatoriums in Dagestan has nearly doubled over the past six years, increasing from 18 facilities operating in 2019 to 35 by the end of 2025.
According to RBC, despite this regional growth, experts note an overall slowdown in the construction and renovation of sanatorium and resort facilities across southern Russia and the Northern Caucasus. For example, Stavropol Krai maintained a stable count of 115 operating sanatoriums between 2019 and the end of 2025, with no net increase during this period.
RIA "Dagestan" previously reported that the republic's sanatorium sector generated RUB 664 million in revenue during the summer of 2025— a 131% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Approximately 23,500 people vacationed in Dagestan's sanatoriums over the three summer months of 2025.
