ANTALYA, April 10 – RIA Dagestan. Representing Russia at the 8th World Ethnoforum in Antalya, Turkey, Dagestani delegate Jamal Makhtibekov emphasized the republic's strategic capabilities in advancing ethnosports and fostering the international presence of its athletes. The forum convened stakeholders from multiple nations, including Bilal Erdogan, President of the World Ethnosports Confederation, with Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev leading the national delegation.
Strategic partnerships were formalized to facilitate cooperative initiatives and secure participation from international teams in the forthcoming Canyon'26 tournament, scheduled to be hosted by Dagestan in October. Concurrently, the development of ethnosports is being institutionalized through a specialized sports academy in Makhachkala.
Furthermore, Makhtibekov has been appointed to the main adjudication panel for the 6th World Nomad Games, slated for September in Bishkek.
