Dagestani brands to present their collections at Moscow Fashion Week

From August 28th to September 2nd, Moscow will host the Fifth Moscow Fashion Week, a significant event showcasing collections from designers representing Russia and numerous international countries including Armenia, Brazil, China, Turkey and South Africa. Notably, this year marks the inaugural participation of designers from Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Dagestan will be prominently featured at the Fashion Week through two brands: Bouzma and Saidova. Bouzma, an ethno-brand, draws inspiration from the folklore and traditional art of Dagestan and the Caucasus region. Designer Maya Mamayeva will present the "Heritage" collection, which pays homage to fabrics commonly used in Dagestani villages during the Soviet era. Meanwhile, Saidova will make its debut at Moscow Fashion Week with its first major collection titled "Narrative".

Concurrently, Zaryadye Park will host the third BRICS+ Fashion Summit international forum from August 28th to 30th. This forum aims to foster a decentralized and competitive fashion ecosystem. An exhibition entitled "Native Motifs" will accompany the summit, showcasing the rich tapestry of traditional attire from diverse Russian ethnic groups, including those from Dagestan.

The Fifth Moscow Fashion Week will take place across several prestigious venues in the capital, including Zaryadye Park, VDNH and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The program encompasses screenings, an open market featuring fashion-related goods, expert lectures and a festival celebrating short films centered on the theme of fashion.
