NOGAYSKY DISTRICT, September 1 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestani athletes Almir Apazov and Tangatar Kurmanakaev will compete in the "avdarys" discipline or wrestling on horseback, at the World Nomad Games in Bishkek. Dagestani specialist Kemalludin Nurlubaev has joined the national team's coaching staff.
The grand opening ceremony of the international tournament took place on August 31. The Russian delegation includes more than 200 athletes representing various national sports.
Apazov and Kurmanakaev qualified for the games by winning the Russian Avdarys Championship held in May at the "Kunbatar" hippodrome in Nogaysky District.
Their first competitions in Bishkek are scheduled for September 2. The next World Nomad Games will take place in Russia in 2028, hosted by Tatarstan.
