MAKHACHKALA, February 18 – RIA “Dagestan”. A phrasebook featuring 14 languages of the peoples of Dagestan has been published on the initiative of Uzlipat Gasanova, deputy of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan and professor at Dagestan State University (DSU). The presentation took place at DSU as part of events commemorating the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and International Mother Language Day.

Originally conceived as a six-language publication, the project expanded during development to include 14 languages (Karatin, Kaitag, Kubachi and Archin among them). The phrasebook was prepared by a team of scholars and lecturers from DSU, Dagestan State Pedagogical University (DSPU) and the Institute of Language, Literature and Art named after Gamzat Tsadasa, ensuring academic rigor in the materials.

It includes basic vocabulary and phrases for everyday communication, typical expression patterns for various situations, and reference information about Dagestan's languages, notable villages and natural landmarks.

Financial support for the publication was provided by Kazbek Agalarov, deputy of Stavropol City Duma. The first edition consists of 300 copies. According to Gasanova, the phrasebook is primarily intended for young people learning their native languages and for tourists visiting Dagestan. Future editions are planned to include additional languages such as Chechen, Azerbaijani and Tat.
