KAZAN, February 25 – RIA "Dagestan". An international scientific conference titled "Fatih Amirkhan in the Sociocultural Contexts of the 20th Century" commemorating the 140th anniversary of the Tatar writer, took place at the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan with participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey.
Dagestan was represented by Professor Musa Bagomedov from Dagestan State University, who presented a paper exploring parallels between Fatih Amirkhan and Dagestani scholar and statesman Alibek Takho-Godi. Bagomedov highlighted that both intellectuals pursued a dual mission: integrating their peoples into Russian and European cultural spheres while safeguarding national identity and championing the development of their native languages as a cornerstone for their nations' future.
Following the conference, Bagomedov gifted the Director of the Institute of Language, Literature and Art of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences a collection of books and national newspapers from Dagestan published in six languages.
