MAKHACHKALA, March 25 – RIA Dagestan. On May 3, the capital of Dagestan Makhachkala will host the premiere of a new tourism initiative titled "Dagestani Wedding" developed by the tourism company EtnoMir Kavkaz to promote event-based tourism in the region.
The 4.5- to 5-hour daytime program includes a traditional bride welcoming ceremony, a ceremonial dance, live ensemble performances, a lezginka workshop, interactive contests and a festive banquet, all in a non-alcoholic format and accommodating up to 750 attendees.
The project involves over 100 professionals and aims to offer visitors not just observation but active participation in authentic Dagestani wedding traditions. Organizers plan to hold the event weekly after the May 3 launch, with potential expansion to other cities in the republic, positioning it as a permanent attraction competitive with key regional tourism offerings.
