DOHA, February 12 – RIA “Dagestan”. The State Academic Dance Ensemble of Dagestan "Lezginka" has participated in the opening ceremony of Russian Culture Days in Qatar, a major governmental initiative supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture. The project marks the first state-level presentation of Russia's cultural heritage in the emirate in ten years. On February 11 - 13, the open-air festival is held in Doha at the Darb Al Saai cultural complex, one of Qatar's significant heritage sites. The ceremony was attended by Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, who emphasized that cultural dialogue between the two countries built on mutual respect and shared spiritual values.

Lezginka's performance became one of the highlights of the opening concert. The ensemble presented choreographic works from its "Golden Fund," showcasing centuries-old traditions and the distinctive cultures of Dagestan's peoples. The artists were warmly received by the Qatari audience. Their performance, alongside acts by an ensemble from Tatarstan, the Kalmyk ensemble "Tyulpan" and Moscow Folk Choir, formed a diverse representation of Russia's multicultural artistic landscape.

Artistic Director Djambulat Magomedov described the ensemble's participation as both an honor and a responsibility. "This is the first major governmental cultural project after a decade-long hiatus and we are proud that Dagestan culture resonates here in harmony with the cultures of other peoples of our country" he said. "Dance is a universal language of diplomacy, capable of transcending borders. The warm reception from the Qatari audience confirms that our mission is both important and in demand."
