MAKHACHKALA, October 30 – RIA Dagestan. In alignment with regional efforts to preserve cultural heritage, "Dagestan Aul" museum has launched "History on Canvas" - a solo exhibition by Mukhtar Kambulatov, a distinguished figure in Russian and Dagestani art. The opening ceremony, led by Director General Zumrud Suleymanova, highlighted the importance of artistic expression in maintaining historical memory and national identity.
Kambulatov’s work, rooted in the Russian academic tradition, provides a visual chronicle of Dagestan’s history, focusing on major events such as the Caucasian War and historical uprisings. His collaborative works with family members, including "Peter I at the Walls of Derbent" underscore the intergenerational transmission of artistic and cultural values. As a former head of Dagestan Art College and a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Kambulatov also represents the intersection of art and education in the republic.
The event drew support from key cultural and political figures, including First Deputy Minister of Culture Mukhtar Kurbanov and Chairman of the Union of Artists Kurbanali Magomedov, reflecting the state’s commitment to supporting the arts. The exhibition is available for viewing until December 4.
