MAKHACHKALA, February 11 – RIA “Dagestan”. Dagestan has launched a workforce training program for water transport specialists to support the development of the international North-South Corridor. The College of Mechanical Engineering and Service, recently granted federal status, has been designated as the base institution for this initiative.
Currently, 75 students are enrolled in the program. The first cohort of technician-navigators, marine mechanics and electromechanics is expected to graduate in three years. The initiative, backed by specialized universities, Rosmorport (Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport) and Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov, will provide cadets with practical training in Astrakhan, strengthening regional capacity in water transport logistics.
