MAKHACHKALA, January 27 – RIA "Dagestan". A delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) visited the Faculty of Physics at Dagestan State University (DSU) to explore opportunities for joint scientific collaboration. The partnership will focus on research into materials with special electromagnetic properties, an area of mutual scientific interest. DSU press service notes that it currently holds agreements with over 70 universities worldwide, including more than ten institutions in China.

HIT scientists bring advanced methodologies to the collaboration, including AI-based material synthesis and property modeling. DSU contributes expertise in related fields such as the synthesis of new materials, crystal spectroscopy and nanotechnology. As to Professor Zhengyu Zhang, DSU’s research approach is deeply rooted in the Russian scientific tradition of engineering technologies, providing a strong conceptual foundation for joint work.

During the visit, the delegation toured laboratories at DSU Faculty of Physics where discussions focused on the formation of joint research teams and participation in international grant programs. As part of the ongoing academic exchange, Chinese graduate students are scheduled to present their research findings, further advancing Dagestan State University’s international engagement. The visit underscores the deepening scientific collaboration between Russian and Chinese academic institutions and highlights DSU’s commitment to strengthening cross-border partnerships in research and education.
