KIZLYARSKY DISTRICT, February 19 – RIA "Dagestan". An educational seminar on rice cultivation technologies was held in Kizlyarsky District administration, bringing together rice growers from Dagestan and the Chechen Republic. The event was attended by specialists from the Federal Scientific Rice Center (Krasnodar) led by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Garkusha, as well as the first deputy Minister of Agriculture of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov and other officials.
The seminar focused on integrated rice farming techniques, covering soil preparation, optimal sowing periods, irrigation practices, crop protection against pests and diseases and modern harvesting technologies. Scientists presented research findings on optimizing fertilizer application rates and crop rotation schemes to maximize yields and enhance grain quality. Participants also discussed procedures for timely submission of applications for irrigation water allocation through state-operated irrigation systems.
