Dagenergo, a subsidiary of Rosseti Northern Caucasus, has been appointed as the backbone territorial grid company in the republic. This decision was made by the Head of Dagestan and issued in a corresponding decree.
Starting fr om September 1st, 2024, Dagenergo will be responsible for providing power transmission services within the republic, with the exception of certain cases wh ere power supply is provided by other companies such as Oboronenergo JSC's North Caucasus branch and Transenergo JV's Russian Railways branch. The status of STO (System Transmission Operator) is valid until 2029.
Dagenergo has confirmed its compliance with all necessary requirements by submitting a document approving the criteria for STSO. The company owns more than 300 kilometers of transmission lines, as well as substations and power transformers with a combined capacity of at least 150 MVA. Additionally, it controls the majority of transmission lines operating at voltages of 110 kilovolts and higher. According to results of the analysis, Dagenergo, a subsidiary of Rosseti Northern Caucasus PJSC, fully meets the established criteria. It operates 208 substations with a capacity of 35 to 110 kilovolts and approximately 5,000 kilometers of transmission lines with the same capacity.
The status of a backbone organization ensures a single center of responsibility for quality and continuity of power supply, maintenance of ownerless facilities, prevention of technological disruptions, and other key aspects. This was achieved through a large-scale survey and consolidation of the power grid in Dagestan. During this time, approximately 11,500 ownerless power facilities were identified and transferred to the ownership of Rosseti Northern Caucasus.
