155 facilities to be equipped for disabled in Dagestan by 2015
Makhachkala, December 2, 2014. Dagestan authorities have completed the list of 167 priority social facilities possessing availability certificates indicating what kind of adaptation for the disabled had been installed there, reported deputy Dagestan minister of labour and social development Z. Bagomedov at the meeting on making social facilities available for an unimpeded access to provide services to the disabled and other people with limited mobility as part of Dagestan state program "Barrier-free environment" for 2013-2015.
Implementing the program are Dagestan ministries of health, education, culture, sports, industry and transport, press, as well as 10 municipalities of Makhachkala, Buinaksk, Derbent, Khasavyurt, Izberbash, Kaspiysk, Kizlyar, Kizilyurt, Dagestanskie Ogni, and Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk.
The ministry of labour informed all the participants about all current legal documents and training materials on implementing the program. To ensure public control and integrated approach in selecting the priority facilities and their certification, the ministry has involved officials from the disabled’s NGOs and local authorities.
At the meeting, participants reported on the work they had done. Nearly all authorities had already signed agreements with contractors. The situation is quite the same in municipalities. But they were reminded they needed to have completed all the work they had planned within the "Barrier-free environment" program by the end of the year.
