Dagestan and Chechnya have most iPhone owners in Russia

In Russia, there is a clear disparity in the number of Android and iPhone owners. According to research conducted by T-Pay, a payment service affiliated with T-Bank under the T-Data analysis project, the percentage of Android smartphone users in October 2014 ranged fr om 58% to 60%, whereas the proportion of iPhone users hovered between 40% and 42%.

The study conducted by T-Pay examined anonymized data on business transactions and turnover of T-Bank customers from September 1, 2023 to October 1, 2024. Interestingly, according to the findings, iPhone owners tend to dominate in cities with a population of over million, such as Moscow, wh ere 53% of transactions were made using iPhones, compared to 47% for Android devices.

In terms of regional distribution, Dagestan and Chechnya stand out with exceptionally high levels of iPhone ownership, reaching 63% and 61%, respectively. On the other hand, Zabaikalsky Krai, Jewish Autonomous Okrug and Kurgan Oblast showcase the lowest rates of iPhone usage, with proportions ranging from 28% to 29%.
