The current challenges in the field of land reclamation were the focus of discussion at an international scientific and practical conference organized at Dagestan State Agrarian University, named after M.Dzhambulatov.

The event was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences and brought together representatives of governmental agencies, research centers and industrial associations from Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan.

The conference featured a field excursion to hydro-ameliorative farms within the republic, during which participants delved into various aspects related to maintaining and restoring the productivity of reclaimed lands. Additionally, they explored innovative techniques for cultivating agricultural crops, addressing issues such as desertification, land degradation and the need for sustainable agricultural practices.

The participants underscored a critical shortage of human resources in this field. Furthermore, the experts highlighted the importance of enhancing the agricultural system by integrating the latest technological innovations and scientific breakthroughs, while also taking into account market demands.
