RT television channel together with the Government of the Republic of Dagestan will hold the II International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes". The festival will be held on September 4 - 6 in Salavatov Kumyk Theater in Makhachkala.
The program of the event features films about the heroes of the special military operation: soldiers, medics, volunteers, war correspondents and cultural figures. These films are produced not only by RT, but also by independent documentary filmmakers and war correspondents from Russian federal channels. There will also be meetings with the authors and protagonists of these films. Discussions and roundtables with experts and opinion leaders will be held.
"The festival is not just a screening. People, after watching these videos, realize that they are about the truth. They show what is really happening. That's why there is such a demand and interest in our films," Ekaterina Yakovleva, head of RT's documentary program and general producer of the RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes festival said.
The festival program also includes films about the events of 1999, when militants led by Shamil Basayev and Khattab attacked Dagestan on August 7. These events led to the beginning of the Second Chechen War. The screenings of films about the heroic deeds of the people of Dagestan are timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of defeat of the international gangs.

Since then, it has been held in seven Russian cities, including Krasnodar, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Kursk, Irkutsk and Volgograd.
