Dagestan has emerged as the undisputed leader in the nationwide contest «From the Southern Seas to the Polar Regions», organised by Federal Agency for Youth Affairs as part of the «More than a Trip» program.

Throughout the voting process, Dagestanian destinations secured the majority of votes in all key categories. In the «Sights» category, the unparalleled Salatau cave complex emerged triumphant. Dagestan Volunteer Resource Center was acknowledged as the champion in the «Places of Good Deeds» category. Makhachkala City Beach claimed the top spot in the «Development Places» category.

This success in the competition serves as a testament to the growing interest in the cultural heritage and natural beauty of Dagestan among tourists, who are increasingly seeking alternative destinations amidst the environmental challenges and closure of beaches in Krasnodar region.

Noteworthy, the competition which attracted 543 entries from 89 regions across Russia, garnered significant attention — the contest's website attracted approximately 1.5 million visitors, with over 65 thousand individuals casting their votes for their preferred projects.
