More than 100 children to attend first "Luminary Center" in Dagestan
Makhachkala, May 17, 2018. The Luminary Enlightenment Center for talented and gifted children has solemnly opened yesterday in the village of Hryug in Akhtynsky district of Dagestan.
The Director of the Prosveshcheniye Foundation Mahmud Abdulkerimov, the deputy of the State Duma Abdulgamid Emiggamzayev, the deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Dagestan Albina Arukhova and the other invited guests took part in the official ceremony.
The new institution was built in the center of the village under the aegis of the Charity Foundation "Enlightenment" and the Honored Teacher of the Republic of Dagestan Mahmud Abdulkerimov. It is designed for permanent stay of 100-120 children. The Foundation plans to open similar centers in all municipal districts of the republic.
The institution will operate from Tuesday to Sunday - from 3 to 7 pm. The center tutors will prepare the permanent and modular types of educational programs including the courses on programming, foreign languages, design, astronomy and robotics. Any topic is viewed from different sides through the variety of disciplines and through different formats: games, workshops, lectures, teamwork, communication with specialists in specific areas, the creative and project assignments as well as watching films and concerts.
The three-storey building has its own garden, an observatory, an interactive lecture hall for 60 people with multimedia equipment, an amphitheater and a fountain. A research laboratory with computers, a language lab with all the necessary equipment, a library, a lecture hall with glasses and a helmet of virtual reality are also located on the territory of the Center.
As part of the grand opening a festive concert for the audience was held. The winner of the 6th season of the national show "Golos" Selim Alaharov and other invited pop stars performed at the concert.
