Moscow, March 20, 2015. Currently, the Moscow's Central House of Cinematographers is playing the film "Rasul Gamzatov. My Dagestan. Confessions."
The scrip to the film after the poet’s book "My Dagestan" is authored by Dagestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov and screenwriter, writer, director, and State Prize winner Rustam Ibragimbekov who is also the director of the film.

"Rasul Gamzatov. My Dagestan. Confessions." is based on the now popular genre of documentary drama with some reconstruction of historical events. It depicts Gamzatov’s childhood and youth, his development as a person and an outstanding poet. Through the voice of his old friend, People's Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoi, he recites his poetry, songs, memories, reflections about his life and time he lived in.

For the filmmakers who tried to understand the unique nature, the magnitude of the poet’s artistic talent, and the depth of his philosophy of life, the most important thing was to touch the inexhaustible source of his great love of the native land.

After the last year’s premiere in Kaspiysk, Gamzatov’s daughter Salikhat gratefully acknowledged that the screenwriters and the director have surprisingly subtly felt through her father’s soul: "I did not expect it would be so wonderful a film. I surely felt my father in it."
