Makhachkala, June 5, 2014. ‘Plug & Play Daghestan’ resident Ali Abdulmadjidov presented his startup ‘The Meet’ to the investors, media and participants to the accelerator of the Fund for developing online initiatives in Moscow, a source in the business incubator told RIA "Daghestan".
‘The Meet’ is a mobile application for organizing meetings in a few clicks helping people to keep track of interesting meetings and get the updates online. The application is available for devices running iOS and Android.
Ali Abdulmadjidov told about the results of his 2 months in the accelerator: "The acceleration course helped us to triple the number of users. It's nice that people do not just download the application, but also actively use them - during the course, the number of established events had doubled. We met experts, potential investors, and partners. Until September, we plan to collect 80% of the events taking place in Daghestan in our application; then we expect to expand as far as Moscow and St. Petersburg. We’ve opened a project manager position and are seeking a professional to solidify our team."
The Fund for developing online initiatives provides funding and expert resources to online start-ups in their early stages. The fund prioritizes educational, legislative and infrastructure projects to boost development of Russia's full-fledged market of small and medium online businesses.
