At the solemn ceremony held in the Kremlin's Catherine Hall, the Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the highest state honor— the Gold Star Medal to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Ibragim-Pasha Sadykov.

Ibragim-Pasha Sadykov, born on January 12, 1924, in the picturesque village of Rutul in Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, witnessed the entirety of the tumultuous Great Patriotic War, having enlisted as a volunteer upon its onset in 1941. His journey of valor took him through the crucible of key engagements, including the epic battles of Stalingrad, Kerch, Kursk and the liberation of such cities as Kiev, Lvov and Warsaw.

In recognition of his indomitable spirit and unwavering courage, Ibragim-Pasha was graced with esteemed Order of Glory, both of the second and third degrees, the Order of the Patriotic War of the first degree, as well as medals "For Defense of Stalingrad”, "For Bravery", "For Liberation of Warsaw" and "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945".

For an extended period of time, there has been an ongoing search for archival documentation that would serve as evidence of Sadykov's merits for the Order of Glory, which is the highest award in the Soviet Union and is comparable to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. On May 2, 2024, this long-deserved recognition was finally bestowed upon this veteran, elevating him to the honorary status of Hero of the Russian Federation.

In peacetime, Sadykov engaged actively in civic endeavors, providing assistance to those in need and conducting meetings with younger generations, sharing his wisdom and memories.
