"Anji" acknowledged as most profitable sports business of Russia in 2014
Makhachkala, July 22, 2015. In 2014, Makhachkala FC "Anji", owned by businessman Suleiman Kerimov, had been acknowledged as the most successful sports business in Russia. Earlier, the club was in dire financial condition. In particular, in 2010-2013, its losses amounted to 6.8 billion rubles.
The situation change after the sale of high-paid players in summer 2013, which brought "Anji", according to the site transfermarkt.de, 136,4 million euros. It made possible to reduce the loss from 3 billion rubles in 2012 to 1.7 billion in 2013. In the graph "other income," which may include transfers increased from 1.2 to 9 billion rubles.
Last year, the income of the club totaled 5 billion rubles while the costs were reducing by up to 2 billion. According to SPARC, the profit of "Anji" in the past year under RAS amounted to 4.2 billion rubles.
