Karate athlete Akhmed Akhmedov won a silver medal at the World Youth Championship for under-21s in Venice, Italy. Akhmedov is a graduate of Saratov Regional Sports Training Center and a trainee at the S.R. Akhmerov Olympic Reserve Sports School. In the 67 kg category, Akhmed finished second, losing to the representative of Egypt, Adel Omar.
