In Dagestan, local farmers planned to plant 600 hectares of new orchards in the spring of 2024. However, the regional Agriculture Ministry reports that 687 hectares were actually planted, which is 14.5% more than planned. The new orchards consist of 500 hectares of hazelnuts, almost 190 hectares of walnuts, and several other types of stone fruit. It is worth noting that in 2023, 1,518 hectares of gardens were planted in Dagestan, and in total, gardens occupy an area of 30,000 hectares in the republic.
