The bus was traveling on the Derbent-Moscow route and caught fire near the village of Agachaul in Karabudakhkentsky municipal district. There were 23 people on board, and the rapid spread of fire caused panic. Fortunately, a passing traffic jam was filled with concerned people who witnessed the incident. The police lieutenant rushed into the fire to rescue the passengers.

Thanks to the policeman's quick action, only the driver was injured. He suffered burns on his lower limbs.  The rescuer's condition is currently unknown, but it has been reported that he also received burns of varying severity. According to the press service of the regional Emergency Situations Ministry, another bus arrived to take the passengers to the site.
