During his working visit to Belarus, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Prime Minister of Dagestan, paid a visit to the largest light industry enterprise in Belarus and the Commonwealth of Independent States, OJSC «Polesie» (Pinsk). Abdulmuslimov got familiarized with the products designed for military use, which contain 70% of wool.
Victor Voitovich, the director general, stated that the technological capacities of the factory allow for the manufacture of over 20 varieties of yarn in various blends. The facility covers an area of 75,700 square meters, employing approximately 1,500 workers. The production line encompasses fabrics, yarns and finished products such as bed linen, knitwear, woolen goods, cotton items and many others.
Voitovich underscored the exceptional quality of Dagestani wool, expressing a strong desire to collaborate with Dagestan in this field.
As to Abdulmuslimov, Dagestan authorities intend to strategically develop wool processing industry. In particular, Abdulmuslimov emphasized the importance of producing clothing for the younger generation, including schoolchildren, which was similar to what was done in the Soviet era. Additionally, the top official highlighted the desire to use wool products for military personnel's clothing.
Abdulmuslimov described Polessye as an advanced enterprise capable of producing seamless products. The Dagestani Prime Minister noted that an agreement had been reached regarding the provision of wool to Polessye, either in the form of washed fibers or finished products. This could serve as a basis for producing yarns. The issue of product manufacturing, which can take place both in Belarus and Dagestan, will be explored further.
Among other things, the company produces specialized clothing for military personnel. One of the main suppliers of raw materials for these products is the Dagestani enterprise, SPOK Mayak M-1 LLC, which provides washed wool.
Dagestan, in collaboration with Belarus, aims to enhance the production of premium-quality finished goods, Abdulmuslimov said.
