Cross-border cooperation issues with Azerbaijan discussed in Dagestan

Makhachkala, June 15, 2019. The issues of cross-border cooperation related to the development of small and medium-sized businesses have been discussed at the round table held the day before in Makhachkala in Dagestan State University for National Economy.

In his welcoming speech, the deputy Minister for Economy and Territorial Development of the Republic of Dagestan Gadzhiamin Ramaldanov noted the importance of developing economic relations with the neighbouring countries. The executive director of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan Orkhan Mammadov told about the practice of supporting enterprises focused on export, including to Russia. The head of the Directorate for International Activities of Corporation SME Nikita Bantsekin reported on the opportunities for obtaining concessional loans and attracting investments by entrepreneurs.

The roundtable participants also touched upon the issue of reducing administrative barriers; the possibility of mutual export and import of goods, in particular, fruits and vegetables.

“We counted 18 business supervising organizations. This figure will be compressed to the minimum. Moreover, the process proceeds from the opposite, that is, these organizations must prove the existing rules” - Alexander Braverman, the director general of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, JSC said.
