Dagestan Steklo Tara glassworks intends to open a new workshop as part of the national "New Materials and Chemistry" project. The plant administration has already installed a modern glass furnace, the technical characteristics of which are unique in Russia. Once production starts, the plant will create 72 new jobs.

The plant will produce a wide range of glass products for various industries: from 50 ml perfume bottles to glass containers with a capacity of up to 5 liters. Daily production will be 160 tons. The plant is scheduled to open in the first half of 2025.

The national project "New Materials and Chemistry" aims to reduce the share of imports of chemical and critical biotechnological products, as well as rare and rare-earth metals. It is planned to create production facilities and competence centers in this field throughout the country, increase the extraction of scarce raw materials, introduce promising products and support industrial enterprises. The updated national projects will be implemented from 2025, as decided by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
