Dagestani artist Asya Akhmedkhanova presents her exhibition in Berlin
Makhachkala, January 25, 2017. On January 20, the exhibition of Dagestani artist Asya Akhmedkhanova “The Erin-Versum” was opened at the Art Gallery Kreativstadt Weissensee in Berlin.
This is the first exhibition of the young artist from Kubachi village in Berlin. Earlier, Akhmedkhanova presented her works in Baku and in other cities of Russia. The leitmotif of the exhibition is to display micro and macro cosmos through the artist’s works.
The exhibition consists of not only abstract (most of the works have been performed in this style), but also the interactive works. On the standard plates, indicating the author's paintings, art and paintings of the year there were no names, thus every visitor can personally write down the name of the work, as he sees it. The exhibition will last until February.
"I was born in Baku. I graduated from Azerbaijan State Art Academy in the specialty "stained-glass designer". Besides, I am a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. In 2009, I started to learn German language in German Embassy in Baku.
Then I spent a week as a tourist in Dusseldorf. It was love at first sight, though I had to go back. Through the Berlin Union of young artists, I learned about the Weissensee European Creativity Centre. The experts looked through my works and decided to organize an exhibition to show my works in different stages of creation. The exhibition's title is "World of Erin". Erin is my nickname, because, it’s difficult for me to write my real surname in German,"- the author of the exhibition said.
As for Dagestan, the artist with her husband arrives in Makhachkala every summer. Asya Akhmedkhanova intends to invite new foreign friends to her native village Kubachi.
