Dagestani doll wins first prize at III International festival-competition of arts in St. Petersburg

Makhachkala, March 10, 2016. Dagestani handywoman Sakinat Ismailova became the first degree winner in the category "ball-jointed doll" at the III International festival-competition of arts "KukloGrad", held in in St. Petersburg House of Culture "Suzdal" on March 5-9, the press service of Dagestan Permanent Mission in St. Petersburg.
More than 150 participants from St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, the Altai Territory, Novgorod, Leningrad, Tula, Vologda, Orel, Voronezh, Kaluga, Pskov regions and some other regions of Russia attended the competition. Among them, there were professionals, amateurs and pupils of studios engaged in various kinds of arts and crafts and a variety of materials. The youngest participant was 7 years old, the oldest - 84 year. The winners were determined in 9 nominations.
As the director of HC "Suzdal" Tatiana Lapteva noted that due to the fact that 2016 had declared as the Year of the Cinema, the third festival "KukloGrad" was dedicated to the cinema history, genres, favorite actors, cartoons and etc. The aim of the event was to spread the experience of master puppeteers, to develop modern trends of arts and crafts, to promote the activities of the club associations.
"Through the dolls, we learn the culture, life, history of the people of the country. It unites cultures"- Lapteva said. Besides, as informed, the disabled individuals can also attend the third festival. The sign language interpreters are working for deaf at the event. The children with visual impairment representing the boarding school №1 named after K. Groth have also become the nominees of the competition program.
