High mountainous “Ethno village” new brand to be created in Dagestan
Makhachkala, July 15, 2016. The village of Midgah, located in high mountainous region of Dagestan, can become the first ethnographic tourists’ site in the republic.
It is known that the village of Midgah is located on the eastern slope of the ridge Gelmets-Akhtyn. It went through the events of the Caucasian War. So around the village there can be seen the fragments of tombstones, some with the images of crosses.
Nowadays, the village is home to only 27 families. If Midgah becomes an ethnographic village, there soon be constructed guesthouses stylized in the old hut mountaineers for the tourists. The residents of adjacent regions may arrange trips on horses and donkeys to the mountains, the "Rossiyskaya gazeta" informs.
