The Publishing House “Dagestan” has been awarded the main prize of the all-Russian national contest “Book of the Year-2024”. This is the first time a publishing house from Dagestan achieves such success.

The Grand Prix in the main category is awarded to books recognized as a social and cultural event of the year showcasing high level of publishing and printing skills.  This award has been given to a series of books dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Rasul Gamzatov.

The results of the competition were announced last week at Stanislavsky Electric Theater, as part of the 37th Moscow International Book Fair. Over 1,200 books from 135 publishing houses from 30 cities in Russia were submitted for the contest. After an intense competition, the publishing house from Dagestan made it to the shortlist, alongside leading publishing houses in Moscow, before ultimately receiving the main prize.
