Being on a working visit to Tehran as part of the Russian delegation, the Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov met yesterday March 1 with the president of Iranian Chamber of Commerce Asadola Asgaloradi and the head of the group of investment companies "Hamrahian Group" Hamid Hamrahian.

"I am very pleased that the relations between Russia and Iran are developing quite actively and gain positive dynamics due to our national leaders and our diplomats. We would also like to contribute to the development of Russian-Iranian relations", - Abdulatipov said. The Head of the republic also recalled the centuries-old relationships between Dagestan and Iran.

Speaking about the prospects of economic cooperation, Dagestani leader underlined the great opportunities for the development of industry and agriculture in Dagestan: "In the last three years Dagestan showed good dynamics in terms of economic development. We managed to take the first place among the Russian Federation regions in economic development. We look forward to more active interrelations, the attraction of investments and expect boost in trade turnover".

Abdulatipov reminded on the recent meeting with participation of the representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of Russia and Iran who discussed the "Green Corridor" project for import of Iran's agricultural products, and, accordingly, the export of Russian goods to the Islamic Republic.

"The realization of the "Green Corridor" project will trigger the development of Makhachkala Commercial Seaport. We are interested in Iranian investments and goods, as well as in selling their products in the reverse direction, which also requires teamwork", - Abdulatipov said.

"Perhaps, the Iran’s Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Trade Representation of Russia in the Republic of Iran with the assistance of diplomats will organize a group trip of businessmen from Iran to Dagestan for them to get familiarized with the investment opportunities of our country", - Abdullatipov shared plans.

During the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of intent - on the construction of a large cattle-breeding complex for processing of meat and dairy products and the establishment of a large logistics center with a warehouse for temporary storage and processing of agricultural products in Dagestan.
