“In 2024, Dagestan farmers harvested 900,000 tons of vegetables and increased honey production, as well as the area of orchards, including intensive ones. As part of the ongoing efforts to develop the agricultural sector in the region, we actively increase storage and processing capacity for agricultural products. Next year, two more rice processing plants will be commissioned to our existing four plants in the republic” - the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Mukhtarbiy Adzhekov says.

The top official also highlighted the importance of state support for agricultural producers, irrigation water supply, locust pest control and efficient use of agricultural land.

Besides, the head of the agricultural department announced intention to make agricultural fairs a regular event, which will be an additional incentive for the local producers.
