The Government of Dagestan and the Russian Energy Agency" (REA) by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation have signed an agreement on mutually beneficial cooperation.

The document was signed during the International Forum "Russian Energy Week" in Moscow. Both parties expressed their interest in cooperating to improve the energy efficiency of the fuel and energy sector, as well as social institutions in Dagestan. They also emphasized the importance of deepening and expanding inter-industry and interregional cooperation in energy, science and production. Additionally, the parties discussed the promotion of digital transformation in the region's fuel and energy industry.

The cooperation also envisages the development of current and future fuel and energy balance plans, verification of greenhouse gas emission reporting and the promotion of NGV (natural gas vehicles) markets.

Under this agreement, the parties express their interest in exploring proposals for the organization, planning and management of fuel and energy infrastructure projects in the region. This includes the development of natural gas fuel market and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Republic of Dagestan.
