More than 230,000 hectares of land in Dagestan are set to be cultivated during the spring sowing campaign. Preparatory work is in full swing, with farmers having already cultivated 100,000 hectares.

The goal for 2025 is to sow spring crops on over 230,000 hectares, encompassing cereals, pulses, potatoes and other agricultural products. The laboratory at Dagestan branch of the RosselkhozCenter (Federal State Budgetary Institution Russian Agricultural Centre) has already assessed several thousand tons of seeds intended for spring sowing. The operation will require 75,000 tons of seed and over 500 units of machinery.

In some municipal districts, early potato plantings will commence in late February or early March, aiming for an early harvest by the end of May.
