The number of new unauthorized construction projects continues to grow in Dagestan, Shamil Mirzakhanov, the head of the department for control over urban planning activities of the republican Ministry of Construction Housing and Utilities says. According to the official, the number of new illegal construction objects - both in the sphere of housing construction and commercial real estate - is steadily growing.

We are talking about hundreds of illegal objects in Makhachkala, Buynaksk and other cities, on which the department has no effective tools to influence. In the future, a special commission will deal with this problem, but its powers are limited – Mirzakhanov added.
