Yesterday, June 10, the "Cultural Heritage" marathon as part of the youth forum "Cultural unity and diversity of small peoples of Dagestan in Russia" has taken place on Rodopsky Boulevard in Makhachkala.

Hundreds of residents and guests of the republic became spectators of the folk festival. Customs, rituals, folk songs and dances were demonstrated by folk groups from different municipal districts of the region. Instrumental music was presented by the folk ensembles "Veselye Zurnachi" and the taftar ensemble, which performed potpourri of Dagestani melodies.

The spectators of the festival got familiarized with such rituals as the wedding ritual "Maiden's Day", "Kumyk wedding", "Bringing the bride to the house of the groom". One of the most memorable were such choreographic performances as the ancient Sutbuk dance and the dance of friendship.

It is worth mentioning that the project was implemented by the Cultural Heritage Foundation through a grant of President of the Russian Federation awarded by the Presidential Cultural Initiatives Fund with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan and the Republican House of Folk Art.
