Dagestan presents its social assistance experience at forum in Pyatigorsk

A Dagestani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Abdurakhman Makhmudov took part in the district forum "Family First: An Effective System for Preventing Child Abandonment', held at the Mashuk All-Russian Knowledge Centre in Pyatigorsk.

The delegation included representatives of relevant ministries, the ombudsman for children's rights and NGO leaders. The forum was opened by Yuri Chaika, Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District and Maria Lvova-Belova, the Children's Ombudsman.

Makhmudov spoke about support measures for the families of Special Military Operation participants in Dagestan, with a particular focus on families with many children. Marina Ezhova, Ombudsperson for the Children’s Rights in the Republic of Dagestan, shared her experience of working with young people, including family unity activities and projects to overcome the consequences of traumatic experiences.

Rabiyat Zakavova, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Dagestan, presented innovative approaches to working with families in difficult situations and described the activities of the Maryam Centre and Dagestan for Orphans Headquarters.
