The annual inflation rate in Dagestan has decreased to 10.3% in October 2024, according to information provided by the Bank of Russia office in the Republic of Dagestan, citing Rosstat data.

Murad Idrisov, the head of the regional branch, attributes this slowdown in price growth to several factors. Firstly, there has been a reduction in the costs of livestock farmers, which is a result of government support measures. Secondly, there has been an increase in food supply, which has contributed to the overall decrease in prices.

Despite these positive trends, some commodities have seen price increases. Wheat flour, for example, has risen by 11.1%, reaching RUB 60 per kilogram, due to higher costs of energy resources, labor, and logistics. Sour cream has also increased by 11%, reaching RUB 340.5 per kilogram, reflecting the higher cost of milk production.

On the other hand, certain products have seen a decrease in price. Carrots, for instance, have fallen by 3.4%, now costing RUB 43 per kilogram, while tomatoes have decreased by 2.9%, now priced at RUB 102 per kilogram. This is attributed to the abundance of harvests. Buckwheat has also seen a decline in price, falling by 5%, now selling for RUB 90.8 per kilogram.
