Dagestan authorities have reported on a big concern: the water level in the Caspian Sea has dropped below the critical mark, potentially leading to emergency situation.
According to a statement of Dagestan Emergency Ministry, the water level near Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, has fallen below the alarming threshold, reaching depths 1-6 centimeters below the benchmark of -104 centimeters. Such a low level was observed during the night of November 25th.
Due to this situation, the Ministry has issued a warning about potential emergencies related to navigation disruptions. The low water levels could cause problems for ships and boats that rely on the sea for transportation.
