According to Dagestan Fisheries Committee, the project to launch a network of trout farms on reservoirs in the mountainous zone of the republic had been initiated by the company NPO Immid Aquaculture LLC. However, the implementation of the project was suspended due to the protest of residents of the village of Chirkey obstructing the construction due to the risk of pollution of the reservoir. Instead, the authorities are developing idea to create a trout farm on the Irganayskoye reservoir in Untsukulsky municipal district of Dagestan.
