Dagestan wrestlers achieved unprecedented success at the recent Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championship held in Moscow.  

On June 27-28, they won gold medals in nine out of ten weight categories, demonstrating exceptional dominance across both men's and women's divisions. Notably, renowned athletes like Abdulrashid Sadulayev and Zaur Uguyev clinched gold, while Abasgadji Magomedov earned silver and Kurban Shiraev bronze medals.

Besides, Dagestan's female wrestlers performed brightly with Ekaterina Verbina and Ksenia Burakova claiming gold, Elizaveta Smirnova securing silver and Natalia Prokopyeva and Vusala Parfianovich winning bronze medals.

The republican Ministry of Sports confirmed that this performance marked the best result in the history of the championship for the republic.  Minister Sazhid Sazhidov lauded the athletes' achievement as the record-breaking feat.
