The trainees of coach Rasul Temirbekov have achieved remarkable success at the International Youth Weightlifting Tournament in Belarus, winning gold and silver medals.

In the 67-kilogram weight class, Yusuf Soltanakhmedov emerged victorious with a total lift of 214 kilograms, comprising 94 kilograms in the snatch and 120 kilograms in the clean & jerk. This achievement not only secured him the gold medal but also placed him second overall among over 250 competitors.

Meanwhile, Rasul Shiraev secured the silver medal in the 49-kilogram category, lifting a total of 162 kilograms, with 73 kilograms in the snatch and 89 kilograms in the jerk.

"Before we left for Belarus, we had two extensive training sessions as part of the Russian Junior National Team in Sochi and in Moscow region. These training sessions laid the foundation for our success. While Shiraev's silver medal is commendable, it is worth noting that as a result of these two training camps he improved his personal best by 17 kilograms and consolidated his position as the national leader in the 49kg category.

Soltanakhmedov went on to prove his excellence by not only winning the coveted gold medal, but also finishing second overall in the competition. I would like to thank Alan Naniev, the esteemed head coach of the national junior team, for his dedication and commitment, as he has invested not only his expertise but also his heart in these young athletes. As a fellow coach, I have benefited immensely from his valuable guidance and advice" - Temirbekov said.
