Favor Film Studio Gathers Material for Documentary on Gamzatov's Life and Legacy

MAKHACHKALA, May 6 – RIA "Dagestan." A film crew from Moscow-based studio "Favor Film" which specializes in cultural and educational documentaries, has arrived in Dagestan. The studio is currently producing a documentary series titled "Native Word – Sacred Word" focusing on poets from North Ossetia, Dagestan, Kalmykia, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan.

In Dagestan, Moscow filmmakers gather material for a film about Rasul Gamzatov, the People's Poet of Dagestan. Akhmed Murtazaliev, Head of the Literature Department at G.Tsadasa Institute of Language, Literature and Art, serves as the film's scientific consultant and one of its main subjects.

In an interview with Anna Petrova-Mordvinova, Editor-in-Chief of "Favor Film" he discussed Gamzatov's life and creative legacy. Special attention will be given to the authentic sound of Gamzatov's verses, with viewers hearing his works in Avar lamguage, performed by recitation master Khiramagomed Khiramagomedov. The film crew will also visit the poet's native village of Tsada in Khunzakh District of Dagestan.
