Dagestan Reports to Federal Center on Readiness of Landfills and Waste Sorting Complexes

MAKHACHKALA, June 3 – RIA Dagestan. At a video conference led by First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Dzambulat Khatuov, Acting Vice Premier of Dagestan Nariman Abdulmulalibov reported on the progress of waste management infrastructure projects. These include a 300,000-ton landfill in Kumtorkalinsky District commissioned in December 2024, a 200,000-ton sorting complex in Derbentsky District completed in December 2025, a 500,000-ton complex in Karabudakhkentsky District approaching its August 2026 completion date, a 250,000-ton facility in Khasavyurtovsky District with frameworks erected and two additional landfills in Khasavyurtovsky and Derbentsky Districts with annual capacities of 150,000 and 120,000 tons expected to be finished later this year. All projects are being implemented under concession agreements with "Republican Environmental Operator" LLC.
